wadoryu.it is an informational resource dedicated to sharing the history, philosophy and techniques of Karate Wadō-Ryū. We are not a commercial entity or registered company. This document explains how we collect and use visitor data.

3. How We Collect This Data

Data is collected via:

• Server Logs: Your IP address is automatically recorded by web servers when you access the site
• Consent Cookie: We use a cookie to store your tracking preference (valid for 1 year)
• Local JavaScript: A small script analyses your browser and operating system on your device, without sending data to our servers until you consent

4. Why We Collect This Data

Data is collected solely for:

• Site Analytics: Understanding how many visitors we have and where they come from

• Aggregate Statistics: Creating aggregate reports that do not identify specific individuals

• Historical Data: Visitor records older than 90 days are deleted automatically
• Consent Cookie: Your preference cookie remains for 1 year, then expires automatically
• Server Logs: Standard server logs are kept for 30 days, then deleted

We will respond within 30 days of receiving your request.

8. Data Security

Your data is stored in a local file (visitors.json) on our server. We have implemented:

• File locking during writes to prevent data corruption from concurrent access
• No external access to this file (it is not publicly accessible)
• Automatic deletion of expired data to reduce the data footprint

We use your IP address only for basic geolocation and do not associate it with personal identifiers.

9. Consent Cookie and Tracking

When you visit the site for the first time, we show you a cookie banner. Your choices are:

• Accept All: Allow data tracking; we store your choice for 1 year
• Decline All: Disable data tracking. No data is stored except your refusal
